Sandy Schaffer , B.S., M.A.
English, Special Education

Sandy earned her Master's Degree at Central Missouri State University in Special Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities after she took her undergraduate from Missouri University in Psychology. She is also trained in educational testing, assessment, and in the use of diagnostic tools for student evaluation and placement. Mrs. Schaffer is the Chair of the Special Education Department.

She taught students with learning disabilities in the Blue Springs School District for 12 years and in the Fort Osage School District for 2 years. Following her public school work Sandy was a testing and assessment specialist for a private practice. Sandy has volunteered her professional services to charitable social service organizations for the last 5 years.

Sandy is an accomplished and renowned painter. Her work has been shown in 80 national and international shows; she is a signature member of 12 national watercolor societies. Sandy has won numerous national awards which include the President's Award in the 2001 Northwest Watercolor Society National Show and First Place in the 2001 Watercolor Wyoming National Show. She was included in the Spring 2002 issue of Watercolor Magic Magazine article entitled "16 of Today's Best Painters".
