Gary O. Seabaugh, Ph.D
Dr. Seabaugh is a national speaker to professional, corporate, and civic audiences. He publishes and presents his research to scientific and educational audiences, is a corporate inspirational speaker and consultant, and he is a keynote speaker at citywide events. Dr. Seabaugh is a frequent radio talk-show guest and has been the subject of several television profiles. He is a decorated Vietnam combat veteran who served with the Marine Corps in Hue City in 1968.
Honors & Distinctions Professional: The University of Missouri at Kansas City honored Dr. Seabaugh with the Alumnus Achievement Award, Arts and Sciences Division, in 1995 for “his devotion to teenagers, families, and to our Community”. In 1989, Johnson County Community College awarded Dr. Seabaugh their first Alumnus of the Year Award on their 20 th Anniversary.
In 1980, Gary Seabaugh and Jean B. Schumaker, Ph.D. were awarded the Certificate of Merit from The Association for the advancement of Behavior Therapy at their 14 th annual convention in New York City. Military service: In 1968, Gary Seabaugh received the Silver Star Medal for “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving as a Corpsman with Company H, Second Battalion, Fifth Marines, First Marine Division, in connection with operations against the enemy, Republic of Vietnam.” In 1968, Gary Seabaugh was awarded the Purple Heart medal with 2 gold stars for second and third awards for “wounds received in combat while serving with Second Battalion, Fifth Marines, First Marine Division in connection with operations against the enemy, Republic of Vietnam.” In December, 1969, Letter of Appreciation from Rear Admiral John H. Cheffey, for “…your military competence and service rendered the Navy and your country, and I extend to you the traditional Navy “well Done.” In October, 1968, a Commendation Letter from Rear Admiral J.W. Albrittain, for “exemplary performance of duty …and your enthusiasm and exceptional regard for accomplishing all tasks assigned to you.”
