Elizabeth Ann Greenwood or "Betsy" graduated from Colorado Rocky Mountain School and then attended Kansas City Art Institute to earn her Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. Afterward, Betsy received her secondary teaching certificate from Avila College.

Betsy is a noted local artist: her accomplishments include public exhibits of a wide range of her work. Early in her career, Betsy received the Purchase Prize Award from Halls Crown Center while she was at the Art Institute. Her distinctions do not stop her work: since she has been on our staff Betsy's students have been awarded 2 first places in the Hall's Crown Center All City Art Competition of 2000.

In addition to her full time teaching at the Plaza Academy, Betsy works for the Nelson-Atkins of Museum Art, where she teaches sculpture, painting and other media. Betsy's civic contributions include her work in the Summer Outreach Program at the gallery with urban youth, the Summer Outreach Program at the Don Bosco Center and the Alvin Alley Dance Program.

Betsy's unassuming genteel manner belies a brilliant artistic mind; she is accomplished in many media's and a student of Art History.
